James Burke

James' film
career began in 1986 at Scottsdale
Community College.
While taking Music classes, he met filmmakers working on
student films for the college film festival. ..And the scoring of short films started. In 2000, James started production on Crazy, a 23 minute short about the life of an asylum patient. This film was awarded Best Narrative Short at the Projections Film Festival, and Gold Special Jury, Best Short at the Worldfest-Houston International Festival. In 2006, Cat's Play (a 20 minute "Twilight Zone" styled short) was completed. It premiered at the Queens International Film Festival in November.

James has worked for the Arizona State Land Department and the Arizona
Game and Fish Department.
His interest in societies and human interactions has inspired his film
work, including "Crazy," "Cat's Play" and
ongoing interviews with WWII survivors. James holds a BS in
Geography from Arizona State University.
